Default std or heavy duty clutch fan

looking at which clutch fan to buy to suit 350 auto a/c p/s with the 7 bladed fan

the temps down my way in summer are around 104f-113f (40-45c) for a week or more at a time.
had a leaking std duty on the car, no part number found, but it never overheated
i have since rebuilt the engine, upped the compression etc.

i have worked out which physical size was on there from the Hayden chart.
found the part numbers for either std or heavy.

so with our hot weather which would you go for, replace with a std or go heavy duty?

since i have to order from the USA with $$ shipping, i want to buy one only once.

I always go heavy duty if given a choice. You might loose a little horse power on a hot day but it's worth it.... Over heating sucks

If it is a thermostatic clutch, ask what temp the clutch engages? The GM Base L-48 clutch engages at 180 degrees, the L-82 engages at 195 to make the engine run hotter for emissions. If you want the engine to run cooler, the lower temp thermostatic clutch would be better. I made the mistake of getting the L-82 clutch years ago instead of the L-48 one on my L-82. Just a heads up.

I kind of think "heavy duty" is a sales tactic . Use the rad you want, the thermostat you want and forget the heavy duty BS on the fan.
