I have a 454 out of a 89 suburban just sitting in garage taking space. Its low hp and has peanut port heads on it, everything is factory. What would I need to do to it to make an engine swap in my vette worth while? Vette currently has 250hp 350. The vette will never see a race strip, and is used as a daily driver during the summer months. 500hp sounds like a reasonable number to get from a 454. Id like to keep the build lower budget but I'm in no hurry to get it done. I can buy and add parts over the next couple years if needed. Any ideas? Is this even worth considering?
