Default 1971 coolant expansion tank

Did 71' LT-1's come with a coolant expansion tank?

I have the aluminum rad, electric fans. But no expansion tank. I noticed the car the other day pissing coolant from the small overflow hose. Car runs between 160-210F (fans come on then).

Thanks

No. You're either overfilling the rad or have a weak rad cap.

I did totally top off the rad before this, so that's probably it.

Should I install a coolant expansion tank? Or just check the level occasionally?

Neither. Fill the rad to the line shown on the side tank and no higher.
