Default C3 Calipers

We have a C3 in the shop here in the UK, with modified front ( and probably rear) calipers. Stainless steel liners with alloy pistons with O ring seals.

How do I find out which modification they are, and where do I get new seals and pistons?

Thanks

Colin

There's kits on Wilcox and zip and other sites but I'm not sure about the shipping to UK

You will be hard pressed to find brake calipers for the C2-C3 Corvette that do not have stainless steel sleeves in them these days. It was a modification that started in the early 70's due to the composition of the calipers and their propensity for pitting. The "O-ring" mod came along somewhat later to address the problem of the original lip seals pumping air into the brake system when rotor runout exceeds about .006".

This kit from Van Steel should address everything you need to service all 4 calipers.

Great people to deal with and a real asset to our hobby.

Good luck... GUSTO
