Default A few 1977 vette questions.

1. my window switch that mounts with 2 screws from underneath has both plastic mounts broken off. is there any thing short of replacing the whole console?
2. there is an antenna up/down switch on the left console side cover. when i removed the cover with switch, i didnt find any electrical plugs that would plug into the rear of the switch? am i missing something?
3. what year did the slotted mags become available?
thanks
fred

1. The easy answer is replace the black console piece. That said the only fix that comes to mind is to drill holes, counter sink holes to insert insert flat head screws from the top side, find a correct spacer length from the bottom, replace switch add washers and nuts. Paint screw heads to match. I think you would have to remove the console to do this work. Like I said replace the console.
2. 1977's did not have power antenna's. Some one added the switch for a power antenna. Probably not needed anymore.
3. I do not know, but some one on this forum will.

Aluminum wheels were a option in 76.

Vete 76, does the switch have a green light on it? If it does it is the rear window defogger.

I then stick to my original post. Most power antennas can be wired to the radio for power on & power off. You can remove the marking and use the switch for another purpose or just leave it as is.

Aluminium wheels were first available as an option in 1973(?) but were dropped as an option due to casting issues. Please correct me if I'm wrong. They became available again in 1976 which has been pointed out already.
