Default Rear Dual-mount Suspension on '73

So, I am resolved to parking my '73 until I get the dangerous rear suspension replaced. I was considering a fiberglass monospring in the 355 to 360 pound range, but came upon thhe availabillity of dual mount rear springs that double functionally as anti-sway bar.

The mono spring is about $400 and the dual mount is probably goung to end up around $600 so there's that difference. This install will probably stretch into next spring where the desire to ride will outweigh my desire to not spend that much money.

Here is a really good Wiki article on how the dual mount rear springs functionally act in the capacity of a sway bar in addition to their duty as springs:

I have a dual mount on the front.

And on the rear. I removed the rear swaybar and seems to grip better now when I'm on the throttle coming out of a turn. With the swaybar it would break loose real easy. Also, I tightened up the springs by moving the adjustable settings out more.

Ouch, $1800.

It's an option I guess.

I had dual mount on mine with the front transverse setup. Worked very well. I wanted more so I went with Van Steels full coil over setup. I installed my dual mount setup on a 69 recently and the owner was thrilled with the ride and handling. Go for it. Nice setup.

Nice!

I'm gonna stick with the $600 VBP dual setup for the rear next spring since I'm having enough trouble justifying thte price as it is versus a $200 steel or $400 Fiberglass spring. My current spring is shot which helps with the justification.

I have been eying the front end as well and VBP has a $700 solution.

Hmmm, I have my rear dual mount from VBP in boxes waiting to be installed. I know what my winter project will be. Complete rebuild of the rear suspension.... Oh well, I guess I have at least 6 months to get it done.
