Thought my main seal was leaking oil. Decided to change oil and switch filters to a different brand. It was the oil filter. The k&n was leaking around gasket. The small o ring would not seat. The guys at advance auto parts said they have seen this before in spurts. My car is happy again.

glad it was that simple. might want to change that rear seal anyway. depending how old it is. felpro makes a fantastic double lip seal.

That's a lot of work for something that's not even leaking yet. Definitely a little tougher than changing the oil filter

It is a lot of work, but not that much. If you we're to do the pan gasket in the future I would highly recommend it. Lucky it was only the filter.
