Default Recurving Distributor?

I've got a 79 with a 383 and a HEI distributor. I'm running a 700r4 2400 stall with 3.55 rear. Timing is set at 34 Degrees Total at 4000 RPM. I've read posts on recurving for performance all in at 3000. I'm wondering if it would be worth it or is my current setup optimum. Its not a daily driver but I wanna stay street friendly.

i think you would help it a lot if it was all in at 3000.

Give Blue print engine a call. See if they have a good reason to have it at 4000 RPM. Maybe they had problems with ping with it coming in earlier.

I'm guessing they set the engine up for higher dyno numbers.

They do it to protect the warranty. Has zero to do with dyno ratings.
