Default Wilcox windshield header re-tooled

What is the exact difference between the re-tooled headers and the previous windshield headers?

Are you talking about the windshield frame headers.. If so, the answer is nothing yet...

The manufacturer of the windshield header is making some changes and when finished the issues that have plagued this part for a long time, should be gone. The initial run of this part we didn't have any issues, but over time, something changed and the fitment of the header went south.

Until it is changed to a part that can be installed, we will only list this as a part "used to repair the existing header".. but keep in mind the amount of tooling involved in making a change in the header frame plus the cost to do it.... it's off the charts and if they dropped the project due to cost I'd not be surprised on that either.

IMHO,

Willcox

The reason why I'm asking what changes were made to the windshield header frame is that I bought one from Paragon about 2 yrs ago, and I wanted to weld it in this coming spring.

I checked it out against my original header, but it is hard to see any differences in the shape.

If there is differences detrimental to re-installing my original windshield, I'd rather wait to get the re-tooled version and scrap the paragon one.

I suspect that the paragon header was made by only one supplier that everyone used.

Knowing what differences there is in the retooled header would let me make an intelligent decision.

I would hold out.. I talked to them recently and they are working on a solution.

I have no idea how such major tooling could go astray, but it did. The issue is not something you'll notice holding the part in your hand, it's a compound angel issue.

I believe this will answer your question to a degree: http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=11206
