About to install OBX sidemount, Suggestions?
I have a 75' and my OBX side mount system will be here next Thursday. Most of the threads say they just bolted it up, while one post described removing most of the bottom end (was on a newer model). Any help with preparing to do this, such as...
1) Did you use the gasket that came with it, or did you buy a different one?
2) Did you have to get the longer bolts? and do you know which ones they were?
3) Any other ideas or pointers that you wish someone would have told you before you started?
Thank you

1) I used a reuseable aluminium laminated gasket from Percy's. Works great.
2) No but I don't have any accessory brackets either.
3) Be sure to get the car jacked up high enough to slip the headers up. Driver's side was more tricky but it'll go in easy enough if you get it jacked up. Passenger side was a piece of cake.
You may need to trim a bit. I had to trim my left side rocker panel but you hardly notice it unless you really look for it. GL with the install.

Overall was happy with OBX for the price.
1) Had to trim the drivers side a small amount.
2) Had to drill out the header mounting holes to mach the head.(never had to do this before on other headers. Was only a small amount on 2 holes on each side.)
3) The headers need to polished more often then the 4 inch pipe.

mine required no trimming. and no clearance issues, maybe some are fussier than i am on such things. bolted right up . NEVER USE THE GASKETS SUPPLIED WITH ANY HEADERS.
