ok...got the kit...probably wont use all the parts...

what did you do to the base to get it to fit the carb circle?...ie...the base has that lip? just trim it?

I used that on my 74 with a big block 427. It worked very well but I will say, make sure you have a fire extinguisher. Those sponge air cleaners like to catch fire if you get a blow back thru the carb

thanks paul! good pic! nice bump! working on getting original working now...little concerned on space with your setup since it is not returnable if it doesnt work...

FOR the L88 base...it is almost a circle that meets the carb flange...but has 2 little lips that prevent it from meeting the base cleanly and being full circle...did you guys just trim those? or do they have a purpose?

I just trimmed mine.

I suspect that the stock LT1 and L88 Holleys had a slot where those sould fit in to, but my 4150 Holley do not have those slots.

Yes, the ordenary 4150 Holley needs a perfectly round base on the drop base.
