Default Electric fuel pump question

Looking to buy a new fuel pump as part of winter refresh.
Quick Fuel pumps seem to be a quality item, but the flow/hp rating system is unclear, as are other brands.
I know i can phone them and ask but thought i d ask here first.
From their web site, the 230gph street pump can support 1200hp,
the 260gph will support 1000hp with rear mounted cell or 1600hp front
mounted cell.
The 300gph pump supports 800hp while the 400gph pump 800hp to 2500hp.
How can the 230 gph street pump support more hp than the 260gph if both have rear mounted tanks, which most street cars have.
The 300gph pump supports 800hp while the 400gph pump which my maths say is 25% more supports 2500hp, which is more than a 25% increase.
What am i missing here?
Thanks ,Steve.

I'm not sure how they are rating the 230 at 1200 HP with rear mounted tank. It will take around 18 to 20 psi at the pump to maintain 7 psi at the carb under acceleration with pump mounted in the rear.

This is the difference in the pumps, the 230 is rated at 7 psi the 260 is rated at 20 psi, as pressure increases the flow will drop.

You may need to call them to get their side of this story.

I agree with you, their rating system does not make sense,

There are so many variables to rating the fuel system that it makes it very hard for the manufacturers to maintain any standard across all the manufacturers.

The regulator used is critical in the fuel supply to the engine.

Take a look at 'Tanks inc' . 'Vette' mag has been doing a restomod with an LS engine. The fuel system upgrade used 'Tanks' in tank pump/sender system. I looked at their website and product looks good, and also confusing because of pressures and port sizing. Just more research for you. T

Thanks for replies guys, at Terry, i checked the site out but they seem to
be FI pumps only, i run a Demon carb that feeds my hungry 434 sb and
nos setup.
I will phone quick fuel for more info as the 230gph pump seems to tick all
boxes for me.
