Default What are good rotors to buy.

Hi,

I am currently rebuilding my front suspension completely and was planning on installing a composite spring and new bilstein shocks in the back.
But now I noticed that I have one wheel bearing in the back shot, ( I can wiggle the wheel) so I will be rebuilding my trailing arms too

Now as this is probably one of the few things I never want to do again, I want to get good brake rotors so that I don't have to replace them soon.

For the front I had to buy new rotors as the old ones were too thin so I bought some durastop rotor's as I was under the impression that these were good rotors but I read somewhere that these aren't all that good.

Can somebody tell me what a good brand/ model of rotors would be, I don't need slotted or drilled but these seem to be in the majority
there are just too many to choose from and I seem to find much over them, raybestos, acdelco, ssbc, power stop, stop tech, etc

Thanks

go to rockauto.com and put in your year corvette and look under brakes/rotors. Rotors are like many items on our cars like tires/shocks-you get what you pay for. Look at rotors under high performance/heavy duty. I prefer Centric high carbon rotors….Stay away from economy/daily driver rotors….

No matter what brand or type you buy, be sure the as-installed run out is kept below .008"

I am thinking that the .008 is a very generous number. But it is a Corvette!

I wouldn't allow 0.008" runout on any brake job I performed.....too much if your planning on driving your Vette in an aggressive manor.

For brake rotors....the Raybestos premium line is good quality. If you want the ultimate in quality.....Wildwood Spec 37 series rotors are probably the best quality you can buy but, about $100 per corner so....$400 for a set.
