side pipe cover ?
Alright this might be a stupid question but do the fiberglass reproduction covers replace the rocker molding or are they installed over it? If it replaces it do I drill the covers to match the stock molding holes and attach to the stock location? The car is a 71 if it matters.

Hi Paul
Yes the fiberglass reproduction of the side pipe cover replaces the rocker trim. And you can use the same holes if the cover isn't pre-drilled.
When you mount the cover be careful that you don't mount it too high up.
It shouldn't be tight up against the bottom of the front fender lip and dog leg.
Mounting the covers too high is one of the reasons the side exhaust muffler hangs below the bottom of the cover on some cars.
Good Luck!

Alan

Hi Paul,
I'm going to say about 3/8" below the body line.
You have to do a little pre-fit to get an idea of just where it looks best.
The repro covers are made a little 'skimpy' so it's easy to have the muffler hanging down. You need to install the pipes so that they're as high as possible.
When the car is sitting on the ground this gap isn't seen.

Alan
