Stealth vs RPM Air Gap on 454
I am ditching the Torker 2 intake on my 454 in favor of the Weiand Stealth or RPM Air Gap. My motor is .030 over with a ~550 lift tappet cam. Heads are stock except ported to match the intake and larger valves, roller tip rockers. Is one of these intakes better than the other for my application? Not looking to drag race, street driven only. Would rather have more torque than high end power. Thanks!

Do you have a non-stock hood? Dont think they fit with a stock hood.

Both are good...the Stealth is a pretty big dual plane. For what you're doing....I'd do the Air Gap.

I had heard the stealth might be better on a bigger cube engine. I doubt I will go larger displacement down the road. I figured either would be a good improvement over the torker.

My 454 is oval port, mild cam, hooker side mounts,
When I swapped the 383 for the 454 it had a torker 2 on it because the performer base model, not air gap or rpm would not fit under the stock hood of the fellows 73,
in an odd act of irony my 69 had a 73-79 front clip and hood,
I didnt like the lack of off idle throttle response from the toker and the fellow gave me the performer to swap out,
It really helped that low end lag,
So if I was being given the choice of the stealth or air gap for free to use, with my engine I believe I would take the stealth and the reason why, the stealth is much newer tech than the edelbrock stuff, in your case the flow will be even better,
But neither choice is going to be any big difference over the other but both will stomp that torker for low end umph...
But the performer will not fit under my 73 hood which is long gone anyway....

Have Performer Air Gap on 489 cu in with 950 dp using mildish 236/242 cam - pulls nicely from 1200 rpm all the way through to 6000rpm - good choice for 'smaller' oval port heads - seem to remember that in back to back tests a few years back it showed minimal loss of hp/tq at higher rpm's against Victor Jnr and improvements lower down? - you'll need L88 hood and possibly thinner filter and drop down filter base.

I changed from a Torker 2 oval port to an RPM Air Gap on my 427 with L88 hood, factory 2" drop base and full 3" high air filter. It fits fine. Thought the front end was going to come off the ground when I really punched it the first time.
