Default American Racing, Tredwear Letters, and Goodyear tires

The Coys wheels were cancelled because after 9 months they still couldn't deliver so I ordered a custom offset from American Racing. Cost more and no painted center but at least I now have wheels after 4 weeks.

The letters are from Tredwear Letters for that old school look.

Went with 18 x 8 and 255/45-18 tires.

I am in the process of changing wheels due to the lack of tire selection for 16 in rims.

My car has offset TA's in the rear, and I need a high tire in the front for header clearance, and your 255-45-18 sounds perfect!!!

Yours look really awesome...what is the backspacing?

255/45-18 matches the 27" they came with stock and there are a lot of tire options.

They are the stock 4" backspace or -12 offset.

I had surgery a few weeks ago so I can only prep a little at a time, but I'll update with a full car picture in a few days.

Thanks for the info! I just checked a neighbors new Audi and it has tires similar size to yours, so future choices should be good.

Hope your recovery is speedy so you get to play with your vette soon!!!

Tires and wheels look great. A friend of mine owns a large tire store and hears the white letters might make a comeback but of course in smaller letters. It was almost like free advertising for the tire manufacture that they now don't have. Kind of interesting. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Looks like the same setup as mine, they've been great so far.

I'm running Conti ExtremeContact DW tires, though. I was going to do F1 SuperCars but they didn't have them and offered these at a great price. Tires are also 255/45-18.

I'm pondering switching to a wider wheel in the back, though, now that I have offset TAs coming in...

My '71 from a PO has offset arms and he stuffed 295/50/15 in there...when I pulled a wheel the TA has only 1 shim on the inboard side! But, no flares or rubbing but close!!
Nice pic!

Love those rims-both ddawson and Sharkracer....They look great! Perfect tire size too-255/45/18 reatining the 27 inch diameter of the stock tires-255/60/15 but with real performnce tire.

DDawson-How do you like the peformance of the ultra high performance tires versus the crap 15 inch tires?

I went old school/new school-Copy of the C4 ZR1 rims in a 17 inch rim-255/45/17 ZR tires

Too cold "for CA" and very new tire to tell.

They need some miles to get that slickness to wear off. Half throttle result in big slippage.

I have the same tire on my Volvo C70 and they feel good once broke in.

I'm a cheater - I have one and have seen that view a few times - when washing / polishing it or trying to eye whether or not I'm bringing it on the ramps straight.

I know you aimed your Q at Dan, but I'm surprised at how well these things hook, in any condition. Particularly with my 3.70 gears, TKO 600 and 400ci build. They almost kinda maybe hook in first, but keep the car pointed straight and aren't too loud about it.

Default Tredwear letters

Ok, so this is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. About to pull the trigger on some 17" American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels. The rubber will be 225 50/R17. I'm looking at either Tredwear or Tire Stickers (same concept).

Question: Are your letters the Billboard kit? I see "F1" on yours, but I don't see that at the Tredwear website. Also, are yours 1" letters? I was thinking of getting 1.5" if I go with Tire Stickers because I don't see that as an option on the Tredwear site either. Thanks for any input.
