bent AG rally steel wheel
I have got a couple of original AG 15x7 steel rally wheel rims each with a couple of dings on the outside face, about 1/16" in out.
Anybody have any suggestions on how to bang out? some careful heat and a BFH carefully applied???
Thanks

There are shops with equipment to re-shape bent wheel rims. Google "wheel rim straightening" for your Zip code. Considering the value (financial and personal) of your rims, it's not that expensive to have done.

Thanks for the info

I checked with a local rim shop here and they wanted $80/pc and said that steel rims could be a pain/difficult to fix. Aluminum they said they do all of the time with good results. They also suggested just put them on the back and run them as is. But, I sort of hate to put new tires on bent rims. I am wondering if most rim shops these days have not done steel rims in awhile.
Appreciate the feedback, I am thinking some propane or mapp gas heat, and some wooden blocks and a big hammer might do the trick if you do this gradually and carefully.

You might also try some truck tire places. Some of them also have straightening equipment. And their equipment is BIGGER.

Keep in mind there were no wheel straightening shops until the OEM Cars started using expensive Aluminum Rims. $80 is probably there minimum charge. I'd use Two Hammers. I'd place one where You want to bend it and Hit that Hammer with another. This way You can't miss, and it is less likely to flat spot the edge.
