Default Parking brake problems!

Im not getting any resistance on my parking brake handle. I tried getting under the car to tighten the cable at the spring where it splits to go to each wheel but it didnt seem to tighten up at all, and in fact didnt seem very slack. Suggestions?

There is adjustment at each rear wheel/hub. Takes some time as you have to adjust each rear wheel PB system.

Van Steel may still publish the parking brake adjustment procedure ('post hardware install). I used it when I installed their stainless hardware and new parking brake shoes back around 2002.

Ill look for that article for sure. When i was trying to work on it i couldnt find any sort of adjustment near the rear hub. Also didnt have any luck getting the pb shoes off.

There is a small hole in the rotor and hub that allows you to adjust the starwheel on the adjuster. Position that hole at or near 6 O'clock and you should be able to see the starwheel. You can put a screwdriver through that hole to turn the starwheel. Sorry but I don't recall whether you need to turn the starwheel up or down to tighten.

one more thing to check is the cable equalizer where the cable goes from one to two{by the cable adjustment. Abend could shorten cable pull. Also available from Ecklers.

There are some good videos on you tube on how to remove/install the PB shoes etc. Also, if you happen to need any PB parts shoot me a PM. I had purchased the rebuild kit to include shoes (SS) before having Vansteel rebuild my trailing arms.

is there any videos specific to 75-76? these years seem to have a lot of minor differences from earlier years. And I know I need to do some work on the rear system but I may do the same and bring the car to a shop. I will Keep you in mind though thanks!
