Put them on top of the pump...look at some of the LS swap threads on the forum for help...your not building a Fbody or Abody here....much tighter in that area

I'm also looking forward to your solution to the interference of the LS7 dry sump pan to the steering centerlink.....based on my mock-up in my 72 Vette, I don't see how the Ridetech centerlink is going to work with that particular oil pan......we will see...

Sorry for the confusion, the motor pictured is not the one that is going in. In appearance it will be very similar. A few of our guys were up at the Lingenfelter facility and snapped this picture. They are building our motor this coming week and I will have the dyno numbers then.

On the 48 Hour Corvette we are using our Level 3 suspension package with our TQ series Coilovers. We are going to race this car, drive it to different events and then race it some more. This car is going to see allot of track time overall and will be really put through the ringer. We are also using parts from suppliers that we know will also handle the abuse we are going to give and not let us down!

The 48 Hour Corvette build is only days away and the excitement is building. How much work goes into the build in only 48 hours? Watch this time lapse from the last 48 hour build.

Just to clarify...anyone is welcome to attend the Corvete build this week. Bring your hotrod!

There will be a significant number of manufacturers here to oversee the installation of their parts...Rick Love from Vintage Air, Mike Copeland from Lingenfelters, Will Baty from Centerforce. Gabi Baer and Rick Elam from Baer Brakes, Michael Manning from American Autowire, John McLoud from Classic Instruments, Mark Bowler, Dave Schardt from Forgeline, Robin Lawrence from Holley EFI, Tim Anderson from Racepak, Paul Hammond from C&R Racing, Josh Powers from Custom Image Corvette, and likely a few more. Chad Reynolds is hosting the show on the live webfeed. Tim Strange is coming up from NAshville...Bill Howell adn Brian Finch have threatened to make an appearance. IT should be a good party!

The Corvette build will be kind of like an old fashioned barn raising...a bunch of friends getting together to eat, drink, and build a car. The TV camera thing is a happy coincidence. We've made a lot of preparations, but there is no script and everything is live. If something goes wrong...even VERY wrong...you'll see it as it happens. Hopefuly our collective experience will allow us to acheive the same succes as the first 48 Hour build in 2011.

A late development for the project...Snap On Tools and Monster Energy Drink have gotten on board. They have lots of friends that we don't even know yet...looking forward to that!

If you want to watch live...and participate in the live chatroom, here is the link: http://www.ridetech.com/48hourcorvette/

See you all on Tuesday morning!

By the way...we dynoed the 427 Lingenfelter engine last Wednesday...

649HP...576 TQ. Should be sufficient for a 3000 car.

It's easier to swallow when parts are donated (advertising) and/or purchased at cost/write off. Not hating, just the reality of high profile builds such as this.

I will be following, will be nothing short of bad *** I'm certain.

Keep the pics coming.

I'm sure it's N/A considering those numbers.

When you get the oil pan figured out, build a spare, I'll buy it

Absolutely correct...There is no doubt that certain portions of this build will not be appropriate for everyone for whatever reason...taste, money, desire, whatever. Hopefully everyone here will be able to take something away from it for their own project. This particular project does have some extra equipment that is geared toward its intended (periodic) track use. Most will little use for a dry sump oiling system and 649hp. Others will probably not care for the trim pieces, seat choice, or color scheme we've

chosen. But...thats why we all have our own cars instead of sharing one

As far as "free" parts...free does not exist. I won't pretend we are paying retail, but the amount of time and effort put forth in making this build happen (on a live webcast in 48 hours) has far outstripped some multiple of the retail parts price. We could have built this car MUCH less expensively if we had just bought all the parts and put it together in a traditional fashion...but then none of y'all would know about it!

Make sure you guys log into the chatroom starting on tuesday...this is all good stuff. And don't forget to share on facebook and instagram!

Very excited! I don't imagine Ill be getting much done at work in the next few days. Im most interested in seeing the suspension/brakes/steering box get installed in real time along with sizes/specs/offset on wheels and tires....although the monster motor rocks

I realize that Your suspension components are sold as a system or in kit stages. Does that include the Splined Sway Bars ? What about selling them separately ? Anybody else know about anybody offering a Splined Bar for our C3's ?
