Do I remove the fuel pump push rod?
Hello
I have convertet my 72 LS5 to EFI and are removing the original fuelpump for an in tank pump. Is there any problems with removing the push rod? It leaves a hole all the way to the cam....will oil run wrong ways with no push rod installed?

Just get a gasket and cover for the old mechanical fuel pump and take the rod out. There won't be any problems as long as you use a gasket sealer, too.

Removing the pushrod will not cause any problems with engine oiling. Lots of places carry a fuel pump block-off plate that can be installed in place of the current plate.
