Default Engine specs, Can someone explain?

Hi, after hours of searching I am not much wiser.
I bought my Vette with a rebuilt engine. So far, the engine runs great and here is the list of what my engine consists.

World Products Sportsman II Heads 011250-2, 388 CI Engine info. 467 hp @6k, 468 Ft. lbs Torque, @4500 Eagle Steel Crank, GM Pink rods, Comp Cams 2500-6500 RPM, 1.5 roller rockers,
Cam CL 109-Lift, .530 Duration 236 @.050, Spark plug AR3924, Pistons Speed Pro w/Teflon skirts SI, 10.5 CP, Childs and Albert ZZ gap dura rings.

These numbers are gibberish to me. My main question is, is it a sensible setup and what is the camshaft type - roller or flat-tappet?

Unfortunately, I'm not tech savvy... Could you guys help me?

Thanks!

Fair amount of aftermarket parts. You'll get differing opinions with regard to the aftermarket parts. Sounds like a good driver engine. I'd guess flat tappet if it wasn't listed otherwise. Good parts overall but there is some debate over Eagle cranks from time to time.Plenty compression.
You'll hear more in short order.

Do you have the comp part number or cam card?

So I guess, Valvoline VR1 20W50 (as recommended in the Sticky) would still be okay even though the engine is modified?

I'd look at 10W-30 instead.

20W-50 is pretty thick. On a cold start it's going to take more time to get the oil moving.

There are some pretty good threads here about Oil pressure while hot and how much you should have at idle and though the RPM.

10W-30 and Synthetic 0W-40 are typically the better wights to use.

Unless the engine builder said too because you built it loose I would run oil that thick.

This is the thing. It's pretty tough to get a ZDDP oil in Europe. One of the producers that does not change the specs for the US and Europe is Valvoline. It has been recommended in the sticky https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ppet-oils.html and it seems many users use it.
ZDDP aditives in Europe I was not able to find. So I guess I need to test the oil. Other options for the Valvoline VR1 line (with ZDDP) are 5W50 10W60 http://www.valvolineeurope.com/engli...ils/vr1_racing
Should I make the switch?

Is the Valvoline VR1 10W-30 not available there?

This is what I use,

If the link provided is synthetic I'd try the 5W-50

For my 69 350/350 with factory cam and lifters, I use Castrol Classic 20/50

Unfortunately, only Valvolines which I posted.

Catrol Classic is again not available here, but I guess I should not be that wrong if you use also 20W50

#3728 Lobe.
Duration 285
Duration @ .050 236
Lift with 1.5 rocker .531
This is a fairly aggressive hydraulic roller lobe
There are no flat tappet lobes that aggressive. If your information is correct it is likely a Hydraulic roller but a 236 hydraulic roller will not have an operating range of 2500-6500
Even their magnum solid flat tappet cam which is a real aggressive lobe design only has a .492 lift with a 236 duration.

My guess is you were provided incorrect information on the cam specs.

Thanks a lot! In the end, I guess I will need to check the engine itself.

Couple of thoughts on Valvoline 20W50 and 20W50 in general. For my newly rebuilt engine, it's just too thick. Today I went for a ride and started the engine at around 50 F. Ddawson was right. The engine had a tough time. I guess if I had a stock 45 year old engine, it would be perfect as a prevention against leaking. But for a new engine I need to look for something thinner . Am I right?

BTW: I contacted Castrol and they suggested Castrol Magnatec 10W40 (15W40) http://magnatec.castrol.com/en/oil-range/

Amsoil is available there. The 10W-30 Z-Rod is perfect for our cars.
