WHO here has the MOST modified C3..?
Not talking about any general area/paint/interior...or effort...just the various aspects of the car....say suspensions, interiors, electrical, wheels/tires, engine, trans, brakes, lighting, steering, chassis/frame,
so WHO here has the most modified C3 that is NOT racing it.....
GO!!!!!

The only thing left stock on mine is the body and the frame. I can't list all the mods. Some of them are LS power train. T56 6 speed custom driveshaft and half shaft. 12 bolt center section. Complete coil over suspension, Wilwood brake system, hydroboost, Borgeson, Dewitt's, custom gauges, C5 seats. These are just a few. I'm sure there are cars here with more than mine also.

Lots of ties on this one...the way I see it DG's car is just as modded as richards, and mine will be right up there, sure our builds do not share the same huge stack of toad pelts invested but a heck of a lot of cars here are very , very modded if the gauge is comparing to how the car sat on a showroom floor...now if this is some thread to thump chests who has the most invested...I will shut up and run and hide....

I like the stock lines of a C3, so most of the mods are in the suspension and drivetrain. Lighter weight and better handling, with a stock appearance was the goal.
Narrowed '93 C4 front suspension (with coilovers and Wilwood rotors and calipers), narrowed '84 Z51 rear suspension with Wilwood calipers, C6 rear toe control links, ZL-1 engine with just enough Chevy orange that no one has yet noticed that the L-36 is gone, lightweight flywheel/disc/pressure plate, modified tubular front swaybar off a '93 Firebird, several aluminum substitutes (radiator, radiator support, radiator crossmember, trans crossmember, differential pinion bracket, hood hinges, trans shifter arms with tubular rods, p/s and alternator brackets, section of the exhaust system, and a few other things), '79 seats, and a few other things again.
Was at 2820# last summer. Goal is 2800# while retaining stock appearance.
Edit: Bats has a good point (and I agree with him) about chest thumping regarding who can outspend who. IMO this hobby is about getting our hands dirty working on the cars ourselves (and enjoying it), and having fun driving them. I've tallied up the expenditures on my car, and it's actually very reasonable, as I do the great majority of the work/welding/painting/rebuilding myself. I just shake my head at the amount of money spent at some of the well known car auctions on garage queens and dust magnets.
JMO. YMMV.

Burning Brakes
There is nothing left stock on mine except the body which has been modified with L88 flares and hood and some of the interior.
It has tube chassis, C4 ZR1 suspension with dual adjust coil overs, small block gen 1 427 doing 603 hp and 545 lb/ft of torque, t56 magnum 6 speed trani, C5 sport seats, and the list could keep going on.
Lots of nice cars listed above too.

I interpreted the OP's comment as inviting descriptions of licensed street cars (that may occasionally see a fun day at a racetrack), versus actual (unlicensed) race cars.
I'm open to correction from the OP, though.

Aw...pro builds can't count they have unlimited stacks of toad pelts...
So this thread actually got me all thinking...Lots of cars here are modded but remembering cars like that Merlin project insane, and Hammerheads wild ride, that what is the "most"?
The question was "who here has the most modified c3"
What about cars that one part is way modded and some other part stock?
Engine would have to be Richard...with runner up that jet car.
What car has the most body mods using non GM parts...( Sorry DG ) ?
But does a body kit count...you know where a kit car used a c3 donor.
Are there any old school one offs here?
What car has the most frame / suspension mods?
What car IS the most all around modded????

Drifting
Right Hand Drive???
G'day,
I'm surprised that no Aussies have chimed in with their RHD cars. They have to make a ship load of modifications to convert to RHD. Some even move the engines over to the left a few inches to get more foot room, then the tunnel has to be moved, seat mounting points, etc.
James Pierce, an occasional contributor here, has a 1968 L89 convertible, with a RHD Holden Commodore R&P fitted and to the average punter, it looks like it came from St. Louis that way. The brake booster and MC have to be moved over, the HVAC moved the other way, and the list goes on.
Luckily the law changed here a decade ago and cars built before 1989 can remain LHD for full registration. As an aside, with Holden, Ford and Toyota closing down their assembly plants in Melbourne and Adelaide in the next two years, I wonder if the Australian government will relax its laws on LHD imports? We shall see.
Regards from Down Under.
