The only connection between the lights and the signal lights is the ground. Otherwise totally separate system.

BOLD print emphasizes importance...and I am NOT yelling.

IF your turn signals work WITHOUT the headlights on. GREAT.

IF they do not work when you put the headlights ON...you have a ground problem....and that is a fact.

Because...the same filament in the bulb that makes your turn signal shine...is the SAME filament that makes your brake light shine. And when you turn your headlights on....and the filament in the bulb for your running lights shine.....the turn signal filament now NEEDS a good ground....and the turn signal filament will NOT shine if it does not have a good ground.....BECAUSE...

When the headlights are OFF....the turn signals will work because they are finding a ground path THROUGH the UN-USED park light filament in the bulb.
