Could you guys please get some video of the steering box and frame section while someone turns the wheel at a stop or at low speed? I'd like to see just how much flex is reduced by the setup.

Cheers,
Matt
We do ship to Australia, and I will see if I can get a video for you!

I agree, I have pretty much sworn off UPS for US Postal Service....especially with the flat rate shipping boxes they have.

Question: are there existing holes on the frame that this plate bolts to or is drilling required? How easy/hard to install with body on frame?

For the first question, you use the bolts that support the power steering gear to the frame(from the wheel housing side) and the upper part mounts to the outer 2 of the four bolts retaining the top cover of the steering gear.

For your second question; hopefully I'll let you know in about a week, but from looking at it on the car it looks simple enough.

Shark Racer - Do I have to use the bolts supplied by Borgeson or can the factory carriage type bolts be used with the bracket?

Looking at the pictures - I don't think the carriage bolts will work. That said, I don't have the reinforcement in front of me and would be able to better answer your questions afterward. I suspect that even if the bracket were designed to accept a carriage bolt (the brace looks to be slotted oval where the gear bolts mount), that the stock carriage bolts may not be long enough to go through the brace, frame and gear.

Ridetech may supply their own bolts, particularly for the upper bolts. I'm sure someone from ridetech will comment.

Chase,

I saw your chassis at SEMA but did not notice the bracket. I distribute the Borgeson product range in Australia and would be interested in stocking some of your brackets and will contact you directly. I would like you to airfreight me a couple, one to put on my '74 coupe (naturally Borgeson equipped) and one for Matt in Australia if he wants to avoid the air freight.

Regards from Down Under.
