How did you attempt to take it off and what is damaged?

You should be able to use a left hand drill bit on a small pneumatic drill and get it to twist out, if that don't work I'd think an easy out would. Good luck with your project And try to remove the bolt first. This isn't the first time it'd happened to a forum member, the search function might prove invaluable.

After clicking the image to back the picture out, I can see your dilemma. I hate to tell you this, but you are going to have to remove the engine and replace the crankshaft as mentioned in the above post. The bolt is twisted off in the crank snout. You can try an easy out but if it twisted off removing it, that's it. A new crank means new bearings so you might think about a rebuild.

Can you take another picture but at an angle so we can see exactly what happened? Did it have the 7/16" NF bolt and real thick washer in it and did you remove it before using the puller? The snout of the crankshaft should have a deep 7/16" NF tapped hole in it and from the picture it looks like it was never drilled and tapped. Or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

I'm afraid you will need to pull the crank to get that out. A machine shop may be able to get that out once it is out of the motor but the chances of getting that out in the car are very little.

What does the end of the puller look like now? It could be that you got the bearing end of the puller stuck in the snout. From the marks on the crank the puller had the pusher bearing on the end of the lead screw at some point.
Is it the puller bearing that came off the puller lead screw and got stuck in the crank?
You might be able to get that out of there and tap the threads... but its a hard place to work on in the car.
Good luck. Bummer of an issue.

Pic angle is bad, looks like it broke then you welded it to the crank trying to get it out to me.

If you can get that piece of the puller out. Go ahead and re tap it. Then use a ARP bolt when the balancer goes back on.
if its FUBAR your cheapest solution is going to be Pull the crank and find a Machine shop that can do EDM. They will be able to burn that bolt out without harming anything else.
FWIW your Puller should not have threaded into the crank snout.
On the end of your HB puller there should have been a provision for a large foot to push against the end of the snout.

If you drill the hole with a left hand drill bit, there's a good chance that when the bit binds, it will unscrew the broken bolt, if it dont you are planning to easy out it any Way.
