Windshield Trim Clip Issues - Help me find OEMs
Guys,
After a 2nd in/out of my windshield due to issues fitting the upper reveal trim, I finally accidentally broke the windshield.
After much swearing... I began to investigate the clip position, clip strength/springyness, screw head type etc. So far, the major difference that I've noticed is that reproduction clips just don't seem to have prominent enough stamped "teeth" to hold the trim in without it springing out of place. I've bought a few different sets from Zip and Ebay and they are all just about the same exact cheap repro. crap.
Does anyone have a set of good OEM trim clips I can buy?
Thanks,
Sum

I actually need all 10. These are the ones that go along the top of the windshield frame and hold the upper trim piece or "reveal" as it's often called.
All the repops look like this:

They have a domed screw and these subtle impressions that don't do the job.
The OEM's look like this:
They have nearly "triangular" shaped stamped in teeth and are held into the upper windshield by a counter-sunk phillips head screw. The bottom "tooth" or "bar" is actually blended into the upper part of the rectangular opening for where the screw goes.
If you've got some then that's great! Just confirm with the photo above and shoot me a PM.
Thanks!

Check this link and see if any of these might work...

The GM factory part numbers are 12338154, 3913937, and 3936399. Search these numbers and you might get lucky and find someone with some NOS.

Below is the last production of the windshield clips by GM. They would come in either zinc or black color. If they will work for you I should have some left.

Hi,
I think people need to be VERY careful with the SIZE of the HEAD of the screws they use.
I found it important that the head sit completely in the area of the clip shaped for the screw. If the head protrudes even a little bit there's a CHANCE that the tabs on the stainless trim will 'catch' on the screw and not be able to fully seat in the clip which can be one of the causes for the gap problems that can occur when installing the trim.
Regards,
Alan
I found the original screw heads to be even smaller than the one seen in Sum's picture although that one may well not cause a problem.
