Default AC belt rubs radiator hose help

Greetings

I have a 75 vette with AC and I've noticed a little spot on my radiator hose
where the ac belt rubs some on the hose, it's not touching when the engine
is off though. it must occur sometimes.

Is there some kind of shield I could install for this?

Where can I buy it?

Thanx in advance

A

Had this happen when I put on a new lower radiator hose on my 73; belt cut a small groove in it. I did this:
1) tighten AC belt. Make sure it does not flop and hit the belt
2) move the hose slightly away from the engine block. This will keep the bend in the hose further away from the belt

Yes Sir; On the 1980 model there is a brace that runs down to the lower front of the block that has a shield on it from the factory. I don't know if it will work on your year or not. So if the factory didn't know about this problem in 1973, they did become aware of it in the latter years. Maybe some one will tell you if this shield was present, or if it will work. Have a great one. Gene

Many years ago my belt was rubbing on my '73 and I noticed that the later models came with a metal guard. I went to the Chevy dealer and ordered one. It was cheap and works great. I was thinking a 1979 was what I asked them to look up the guard part number. It's been 30 years ago but I do know the part bolted right on and works great.
