Milodon Oil Pan holds a lot more dirty oil, than you'd think...
Ok, so I love, how the Milodon Pan, looks on my SBC, but draining the oil out of it, I got tired of waiting for the dirty black oil to drip out. After 30 minutes, I got out my vacuum bleed kit and put the natural curve of the tube into the hole, so that the end of the tube, would be at the bottom of the pan.
I was surprised at how much dirty oil, was recovered out of the pan. This would usually stay in the pan, along with the fresh oil. I'm glad I went ahead and did it, as I don't want that, mixing with the fresh oil I was putting in. Here are some pics.

Need to get it up level. Front is too high.

I should have tried sucking the oil out of the Moroso pan I had on my 79 for like 20 years!
Thought maybe I was mistaken thinking it was 7 qts when all I could get into it was 6 quarts.
5 years ago I went back stock. After draining the oil and pulling the pan I find a full quart of oil still in it due to the big sump and the somewhat high mounted plug.

I know that's the appearance, but the car was on a lift and close to being level, it's just the angle I took at it, from underneath, laying on the shop floor, behind the tire.
The drain hole, is not at absolute bottom, thus, that whole 1/4" below it, ain't going to drain, even if it's level. It may be overkill, but I'd rather spend five or ten minutes with my little vacuum set up, then leave that 150 ml, of dirty oil in there.
Kapsa, that was too funny! A whole quart, left behind! Geez...

I change my oil after it is running and wait about 15 minutes, so not too hot. I jack the car on the opposite side the oil drain plug is on and let it drain for as long as it takes to stop. Pretty sure I am getting 99% of the oil out of Milodon pan. If you put in 6 quarts you should be getting close to that out if you top it up

how much is left in the motor that does not make it down to the pan?
more than likely more than what you recovered from the pan
Maybe flush with a cheap oil then put the good stuff in it after the flush if you have concerns over what was left over.
