Default Wheel Static Collector

I notices I only have part of one left in the wheel. Are they really necessary? I assume they are only for static noise reduction on the radio which I could care less about.

Default Ditto here too on my 68

Ditto same story on my 68.

When I installed new front wheel bearings, I found the remains of one static collector in one wheel bearing cap but not the other.

I would have installed new ones just for fun, but too pricey for me. So just left them out. My 68 radio still sounds like, well, a 68 radio to me,

Another one of the 68 unique and very desirable features, me thinks!!

I'm going to leave it out. Looks like something that just gets chewed up. And you are right, way to expensive for what it is.
