Default Different rear bearing carriers?

Theses bearing carriers are from my 72 vette. They are different.
Pic 1 the size of the area that the shock mount/bolt goes through are of different diameter (read arrows).
Pic2
The internal area were the bearings are held on the top carrier is a solid piece of metal. the lower carrier has a cavity. See the white arrows.

The rusted carrier is from the drivers side and was in great shape. the PS side carrier was hard to remove and seems worn on the external surface.
Which is the correct carrier or can I use them both.

348103 and 348104 are the correct numbers, I can't clearly see the other number in your pictures. I did find that 348103 also had a number of 3820643. The same parts were used from 63 to 82 so the numbers changed. If neither one of them has an issue you can use them.

My rear bearing housings don't match either and I assume it was because of different vendors supplying them when my '71 was built.

The top carrier is a 75-82. The lower is a 72.

I will be using VBP adjustable smart struts. Are there problems using these carriers and some strut rods?
Thanks

Are the strut rods using the poly ends or the heim joints?

I assume from their website(I have not ordered them yet) that they have poly ends.
Would you recommend heims? The car is being built for street use.
Thanks

The poly end will rub on the 72 housing but not on the later one. The heim joints work fine on either. Strut rods are a bad place to use poly bushings. It's best to use the heims.
