BUT- it's not like getting water boarded - you get to stand up at least!

Caveat: You still need purple cleaner, 409, simple green, brakleen, degreaser, brushes, scraper, the "shower cap". Still hold your breath. Still get soaked with the pressure washer. And then use the air hose and little bits of greasy dirt get all over you.

1 tip for all the Masochists out there. Use Easy-Off Oven cleaner.
It's straight Lye and will eat any grease, oil, crud, paint, skin, soft tissue it comes in contact with.

Here's a stock photo.
The lifting arm is about 8" wide and doesn't really block access to anything, so far
Trans is out, exhaust off, driveshaft, entire rear diff, suspension, trailing arms, etc.

Nasty job!
Glad I did not keep track how many hours I spent under my 73 on jack stands. Pulling everything off, then scraping, brushing, sanding, degreasing, painting...At least I was able to do the work at a warehouse/shop, kept the wife happy. But MAN was I dirty! I would pick up groceries on the way home, people were like "what the heck were you doing today?" Think of it as a rite of passage. You can be proud of what you did to get a 40+ y/o Vette back in shape! Not for the faint of heart!

The old grease and grim makes a good rust inhibitor. I would clean up rusty parts and leave the rest alone unless you are going to put mirrors under it at a car show you have the best undercoating for free

I'm with Steve on this one. That lift would HAVE to be on a perfectly level and VERY hard surface to be remotely safe IMO. It just looks better suited to lifting a go-kart or lawn tractor that, say, my RAM crew cab DD!

This lift is very solid and well made. Very good quality welds.
Look online, you will see how some cheap 2-post lifts have collapsed with less than their rated weight!
But, not using safety stands would just be foolish.
