Default Does anyone know?

The high RPM limits of the A-6 A/C compressor? My friends new engine red lines at 7,500RPM.

I don't know if there even is a limit. He could just turn off the a/c when he flogs the motor.

Can't argue with that...

I once rigged up a micro switch and relay that turned off the AC compressor when the throttle was wide open.

Without some sort of stabilizer on the A/C belt, he's gonna have trouble keeping the belt on the (stock) pulleys, without the A/C engaged, at anything over 7,000 rpm. To keep from destroying perfectly good belts, I would recommend that the belt be removed anytime he knows he'll be turning anything over 7,000. I certainly would never intentionally spin the compressor (engaged) over 6,000. There's just no good reason to do otherwise.

Good luck... GUSTO

, probably the easiest insurance and I've lost a few races over the years because I forgot to turn the AC off
I wouldn't worry about blowing a belt off if everything is aligned and set at the proper tension.

I twist my 540 in my V-Drive boat at 7,500 rpm and have never slung the belt on the alternator. As stated ,the right tension and deep groove pulleys.
