Automotive Thermostats
Many folks don't understand how their C3 thermostat operates so I recommend Googling "How Its Made.........Automotive Thermostats" and watch the U-Tube video to see how they're made and how they function.
Even though it is recommended they be changed every 2-3 years few owners do and its not uncommon to see thermostats still going after 15-20 years of use. But over time the parts loosen and the wax pellet that makes it operate migrates out of it's containment cup and then the thermostat can stick in the closed position. As inexpensive as they are I recommend replacing them every time you replace the top hose.

Coming from YOU who ignores my replies that I have noticed in these threads.......that is a funny post.....
the opening in the stats has been reduced over the years to the 195f standard flow....
REGARDLESS of when the stat opens....and it's supposed degree rating.....
THAT is why we need drill extra passage holes on the skirt....
ALL else is BS.....BTDT man, I am correct and YOU are RONG....
feel free to PM me if I miss the thread update.....

So you're saying the 1" opening size of today's thermostats have been reduced from a former larger diameter? And now we need to drill extra holes to increase the amount of flow? Wow, that sounds like a typical government conspiracy, huh? To make our engines run hot I assume? Hey, how about just taking that worthless thing out?
