Big block exhaust symmetrical aft of down pipe???
Does anyone know if OEM big block exhaust pipes aft of the transmission cross member are symmetrical (ie. mirror image between left and right side)?
I know the manifold down pipes before the cross member are not symmetrical due to clearance issues, but I see no reason why aft of the down pipes is not symmetrical.
The non-OEM chambered pipes that's on my 69 with 4speed have more offset on the driver side. Is this by design or just sloppy fabrication?
I am attempting to make my own system out of 14 gauge stainless mandrel bent tubing and would like to do it right instead of just copying what's on the car.

Thanks very much for the info. I was not aware the engine is offset. I suspected it might be but couldn't tell by eyeballing it yesterday.
I will take accurate measurements of the cross member through hole location later today.
