15" Wheels Only Picture Thread
I did a search and didn't find anything specifically for 15". I have a set of 15x8.5 and 15x10 aluminum slots. I want something that will fill the wheelwells nicely, and I don't want the rear tires shorter that the front. I am wondering what size tires guys are using on big and littles in 15". Pictures?

I added 550# front springs and removed a bit a couple of times till the front as "there that looks right". I added lowering bolts out back and set it "there that looks right". The stock width rear spring would not work with this combination. I think that it is down a bit but don't have a reference to say how it would compare to stock. With the back up just a bit the tires never touched the chassis. Like this or even a bit lower I get some "shiny spots" on the frame but the tires must just kiss it because they have almost no indication of touching.

Those are the exact mods I plan for my '74. 10" bolts? Does your exhaust pass under the rear diff, and does it drag?

I don't remember the size (I did this ten years ago) but they were just the next size longer than stock.
Keep in mind this rear set up is very tight. With the rear spring removed I had about .06" clearance to the fender lips at full compression. I am surprised that there has never been signs of touching there. Also, not every companies 295-50-15 will be the same size. I have seen a lot of variation in tires listed as the smae size from different makes. Based on other sizes I've used it looks like Cooper Cobras might be a bit narrower. The could be a good thing. With mine if the tires were any larger than my BFGs there could be problems. Any difference side to side with the vehicle might matter wit this set up too. A 1/4" offset of the body is no big deal with narrower tires but here it would matter.
I made up the exhaust using mandrel bends form 2 1/2" pieces. I have about 3/4" clearance to the spring near the center. It has hit things over the years but similar to any other low vehicle. I'd worry heat into the spring if it were on a road course for 30 minutes of high power output but street use seems fine. Over the years I have tightened the bolts twice to restore the ride height. I don't know if the slow settling is normal for a fiberglass spring or is a reaction to heat.
Good luck with your '74. Long live the dual exhaust Sharks!

Thanks for all the info. I used to deliver pizza 10-12 hours a day on terrible roads in an extremely low mini truck back in the 80s, so I can probably manage not to tear this thing up if I have a few inches cleareance. You can get away with low on the axles centerline much easier than in the middle of the car.

Since the bushings and alignment were good I notched them while on the car. The reinforcement extends a couple of inches beyond the opening. I welded it as far as I could thought the opening plus plug welds on the back side. And of course the parking brake cable has to be moved.
