Default Driver side mirror

Does anyone know if the single allen screw on the outside will permit replacement of the mirror?

Remove the screw and you can remove it from the mount. I don't know if it is the same for sport mirrors. The mount should be held on with screws and expansion nuts.

Yes. That will allow you to replace the mirror 'assembly'. If you only want to replace the mirror 'glass', you need to soak the mirror assembly in gasoline or volatile cleaner to soften the adhesive holding the mirror to the body.

Removing the mirror glass will also allow you to fix the dreaded "mirror flop" with slight mods. Be very, very careful when removing the glass since can easily crack! I know from experience! Good luck

A cheap fix for mirror flop is a drop of crazy glue until you can find a replacement.

If you want to use a "volatile cleaner" that doesn't carry a heavy odor, I recommend simple lacquer thinner. An overnight soak worked well for me. Caused no damage to the chrome or the glass.

Hope this helps.
