Neutral Safety Switch
Can the Neutral Safety Switch be adjusted ? I have to mash my clutch pedal into the floor board to get it to start

No adjustment. The brass contacts inside wear requiring the actuator arm to be pushed further towards the firewall for activation. It's a bit of a bear to change the switch. I had to remove my seat to lay on my back. You can also bypass the switch by disconnecting the two wires from the switch to the connector and use a jumper wire on the two wire connector.

You could bend the link to shorten it, but that's a bit Bubba.

Hi MH,
There's a rod that runs from the clutch pedal arm to a lever on the switch.
You might try to get a peek to see if it seems bent.
Also, you might try cycling the lever by hand to see if the switch is working, but the lever on the switch isn't being moved far enough.
Is there any chance that the underlayment, carpet, floor mat, might be preventing the arm from moving the lever far enough to make the connection in the switch?
A nasty place to have to get access to.
Regards,
Alan

I don't really like the idea of disabling the switch but I might do that since I have got used to depressing the clutch and checking what gear I am in over the years.
Thanks for all the help

The rod had a bushing on the end of it when it went into the pedal. You might check the bushing for wear, and as mentioned above check the rod to see if it's bent.
