Has anyone used the NKB heads from Skip White Performance? I'm Looking for something in the $1000.00 range to replace my double hump heads. Suggestions welcome.

Blue Print H8002K heads are $895 for the pair. I bought a pair earlier in the year but haven't run the engine yet with them. I know they put these heads on a bunch of their crate engines and haven't heard any horror stories yet.

The best Chinese casting on the market is the ProMaxx casting if you looking for a budget head. No matter if you spend $695 or $6950 on a set of heads it is best to take them to a shop and have them gone through. Best $200 you will spend.

You can do what I did......buy a pair of bare Pro-1 platinums from Dart...get their spring/lock/retainer kit and buy your favorite springs....in my case they were Isky.
Hand lap them yourself....all 16 of my guides and seats were machined perfect....and Dart does a 5 angle setup.....setup your installed heights.
I had $1350 in mine when all was said and done...and I do not have to worry that there may be something wrong with them.

I agree with Straub, if you don't know what your looking at have them checked by someone competant. That's solid advice that I have advocated in the past.

I have been looking at these

In the past few months, they raised their price slightly. If I recall correctly they were $475 ea. Probably because they are starting to catch on, although they have been around for a while. I always throw out Chad Speier's name since he is a professional head porter and huge advocate of these and has explained with proof how good they are over the years on various forums. Just google "Chad Speier pro filer"

Check out Shaw City Engines in Fresno, CA. They use castings from Canada, not China and can machine them as plain or fancy as you want. Assembled with valves and springs or bare heads. Their costs are also reasonable. I got aluminum heads for my 454 and saved $$$
