Newbie to a corvette here, I recently purchased an OTC Monitor 85 to try to read real time output. However, when I connect the plug to the ALDL, after entering the year and the system, I put in the mode and hit enter and the screen just tells me "no data". I have tried several times and I always get "no data". Am I doing something wrong? Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Do you have the manual for that unit? The steps for powering up are very specific in order to have data displayed...Make sure the ALDL connection is clean and the adapter plugged in tight....Good Luck!

did you test the port by jumping pin A and B to see if you can read the codes with the check engine light?

Make sure you plug everything in before you start the car.

I did, i have codes 13 and 23. When I plug the monitior 85 in, the CEL flickers, but the unit still says no data.

did you buy this Monitor new or used and have you confirmed that it works by checking it on another car?

I picked it up used, off ebay. I dont think it will work on any other car that I have. I followed the start up instructions as the manual states.
