Default Engine Identification

I'm looking to find out whatever I can about what I believe is a crate engine to my 69. The Eddelbrock intake manifold is painted yellow and the block has the following stamped on it:

06A104038

V0904TKB (The T may possibly be a 1, larger print than the first group of numbers.)

I believe it is a 350 crate Edelbrock engine but I really have no idea.

Nevermind... Little more research and I figured it out. It's either a 350 truck engine from a 76 or 79 Chevy. The rest I guess I'll have to find out along the way!

Anyone have a line on the first string of numbers? I've been looking around and I think it's probably part of a vin for the car/truck the engine was originally on but can't find anything else. I'd like to know where the engine came from/off of.

its a 4 bolt truck block like you stated...I used a block from a 76 heavy duty truck myself when building the engine for my 74 and the id # is similiar ... supposedly a High nickel block too by the 020 and another marking I cant remember elsewhere on the block which is debatable since there apparently are no records available to the public linking any specific #S to the metal content for sure...

Probably would have been better to put your Q and pics in a new thread.

You can find the Lime Book PDF in the C2 forum stickies.

The CKL stamp fits a number of different models, but not Corvette. One of the biggest clues for it not being a Corvette engine is that the Tonawanda foundry (indicated by the T in the engine stamp and castings) did not make any small blocks for Corvette, just big blocks. Being that it has a 1972 casting date, it's likely the 350ci/145hp.

Madman–
PS: The C in the VIN sequence (13C120690) indicates the Southgate, California, assembly plant used for passenger cars. (Corvettes used the S code for St. Louis.)

Your post has nothing to do with the original poster's question, which is identification of a crate engine, and he has not been active on this Forum for 8 years. If you want answers to your new topic and question, start a new topic thread.
