Belt change on 70 350

Belt change on 70 350
Changed belts from old Dayco to new Gates on alt and ps. The alt belt is touching the ps guide. Is this normal? Forgot to take a pic before starting to see if it was that way before. I had them measured against the old ones at the parts store.

you had no way of knowing if the old ones were correct to start with. Did the parts store try to look up the correct belts? You can check for yourself what the correct belts should be on the link below.

Thats what I did to get the correct radiator hoses the second time around.

What number alternator belt do you have? Does it need to be longer or shorter to clear the power steering guide?
Can you post a picture of the front of the engine? One showing everything and one showing the interference up close.
