Default Recomendation for Air Cleaner - 1980 L48

Members

I have a 1980 base model corvette and had the smog pump and some of the other emissions parts removed from the engine as to clean it up. I am now looking to buy a replacement airfilter system to replace the duel snorkel system that is currently on the car. I am looking for recommendations for a replacement air filtersystem that would provide a nice fit, perform well, as well as provide a nicelook for the engine.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thank You

The stock dual snorkel cold air intake is very good since it directs cold air to the carb than just a plain open element air filter which sucks hot under hood air into the engine. If all the duct work is in place hard to beat the OEM system on the street. If you want looks, than that is different....I have the stock dual snorkel cold air L82 system on my 78 with a k&n air filter since the late 80's....

Thanks JB78L-82. You are the second person to recommend this and now I will take your advise and keep the Duel Snorkel with the air ducts. It does make more sense.

Thanks for the quick reply!

If you want some bling under the hood, the 81 chrome air cleaner lid is bolt on for the 80 and earlier models. I've got one on my 80 L-82.

Thanks Easy Mike - I was looking at them on one of the Corvette vendor websites. I think I am going to get one as it will add a little flash to the Engine compartment!

Thanks !
