Default 1980 Running Too Hot?

I have an all original 1980 Corvette, 350 L48 with auto transmission. I have had the car for 2 years now. When I drive it the temp gauge always reads at 200 deg. Do you think that is running too hot? I do not want to install an aftermarket gauge so not to throw off it's originality. I can leave the car idling on a hot day for about 5 minutes and the temp does not rise.

Also, what's the best way to find out if the transmission oil is too hot too?

Anything to worry about?

Thanks! Don

190-210, sometimes 220 is normal operating temperature.

The gauges are always a SWAG...

If your gauge is consistent, I think you are good
