12 sec or better club ( street )
with so many modern cars even family sedans putting out tall hp I was curious how many c3's belong to the 12 sec or better street club,
Give a bit of a run down what you have and how "streetable" is your car,
AC?
could about anyone jump in it and drive it around?
or
Is it an off a trailer on the track idea?
Thanks all.

ah yeah,
So way way back when I was like 16 had that 72 bb convertible I go out with my buddies to the tracks street day, and when the inspector sees 454 4 speed and a young pup, he says no way, not without a helmet and roll bar, I ask is hard top enough, he said okay, if bolted down
lucky the line was long I go home get the top and my motox helmet and get back with time to spare, I blow it in the take off, I am all in awe over the flared 69 firebird next to me I watch him take off, oops I was suppose to take off too,
I ran a very high 13...
My 66 sb ran several low 12's but not with me driving.

Jim, you're in a whole different league- not fair!
Bats, my basic stats are in my sig. My daughter and wife have both driven the car with ease. It's quick at light throttle but very manageable and smooth.

I am in, 73 vette- no A.C. 383 pump gas, 4 speed- 12.60 at 113 mph. no traction thru 2nd gear on BFG street tires. It will be better when it comes out of hibernation.

I didn't make it into the club. Mine is a bone stock L36 4 speed M20 including smog pump and the best I could manage out of three runs was a 13.02.
My C6Z runs 10.90's but maybe that was because my wife was driving it....
On one you use a screwdriver and the other, a laptop.... The car, not the wife.

The best I have done on the track was a 12.6 at 114. That was with a 350. Have put in a fuel injected 383 and it was quicker, never on the track. Now a LS3 that should be even quicker. I am hoping for high 11s. Now the Cobra with 540 HP and 2100 pounds should be in the 10s if I can hook it up

ok I'm game...... just a small block with great street manners.....don't know about driving it anywhere especially in the summer with no AC! However the car is an easy to drive 4 speed with a small block the best I have been able to click off is a 12.1 @118 this is a soft leave because I keep breaking parts which is why the IRS is out and its in the process of a solid axle swap now. Shooting for mid to low 11's on the motor low 10's on the bottle.

To run consistent sub 12 seconds in our vettes you have to put a little money and thought into it. My first SR 383 was a winner at the annual all corvette drags in Sacramento race way In the 10.50 to 11.99 class 12-14 years ago and I've done lots of improvements since
On that same hot day with a poorly prepared track they also had two slower classes 12.00 - 13.49 and the 13.50 and above. The slowest class was the newbies and lower hp 327 , 350's, 427 and 454. the next class up you saw drag radials and prepped cars. They didn't have enough sub 10.50 cars to break them into more groups so what they were calling super pro was everything from a 7.60 vette up

It's cool to see a factory big block car actually out racing! Nice times..

I never seem to be able to get to the track, but an educated guess I'd say mine would be darn close to the 12 second range. It may come down to air temp to do it but I think it's possible.

Time to go back and try again!! There's got to be a few hundreths (or tenths) in there!
