Default 1971 alternator wiring question -help

Have a 71 350 and connector on top of alternator cracked. I forgot to mark which connector goes in which terminal side of new connector (1 vs 2) which are marked on back of alternator. One wire is black with white stripe. Other wire is slightly thinner and brownish grey in color. Car has original harness and alternator type. Any help or picture would be great. My guess is b/w wire into T1 spade. Thx

#2 should be battery, voltage all the time, #1 should have voltage with key on.

Can you direct me with wire color. Striped wire to which spade terminal, 1 or 2?

The smaller wire, brownish should be #1.

Hi R,
This is still the original alternator from my 71.
I hope it helps you.
Heavy red, medium black, small brown/small black w/white stripe.
Regards,
Alan

I'll guess that you have a '10SI' alternator, so you have a #1 terminal and a #2 terminal.
The article is 'in general' but the point is the sense wire tells the alternator to put out more or less volts.

This thread is from 2016. On the picture the green wire connects to the temperature sending unit in the head. Jerry
