Windshield Pillar on 69 vette coming off
I recently had my shop install a new passenger's side windshield pillar. The old one appeared to have shrunken and did not seemed to be attached correctly. When I got the car back, it looked the same. My question is this: Is the pillar piece supposed to cover the thin piece of metal? In my picture, the blue arrows point to the thin piece of metal. The arrows that are curved are supposed to suggest how the pillar should be covering that thin strip of metal. I suspected that metal was to hold the pillar in place, however I can't find a good picture of this installed correctly. Does anyone have a picture of what this should look like, properly installed?
Does the interior foam/pillar hook onto or over the thin strip of metal?

The reproduction pieces are crap and the black Velcro like clips don't hold like the gm style, china garbage. but that said mine are also a little exposed but I painted them black so there not as noticeable

Hi MT,
Here's a couple pictures of a typical fit.
It takes work to get them in place.

It's this edge of the a-pillar steel that remains exposed and looks best if painted semi-flat black regardless of interior color.

Grabbed 3 pics of my 69. I think the trim pieces are GM (because they fit well). The metal edges of the w/shield frame are exposed on both sides. Don't think the trim is designed to cover them.
