Default turn signal acting up

SO my 73's left turn signal is being weird. Sometimes it works fine, but more and more now it stops working.

When i activate it, the left arrow on my dash just stays on, doesnt click, and my signal lights dont flash. Right side turn signal has no issues.

Like i said, it does this sometimes and with no real pattern. Ill start a trip with it working, 10 minutes in it starts doing this, 15 minutes later itll go back to working, 5 minutes later boom, light just stays on and no signal.

Any good place to start on this?

Have you checked the left front bulb?

not recently, but that would cause the whole left side system to shut down? like i said, it doesnt make a clicking noise or blink on the dash. if a bulb going out would disable everything that seems like an odd design lol

After your bulb, check the grounding in your sockets. Same thing happened to me. Cleaned up the ground in my front left socket and was good as new.

The flasher doesn't draw enough current to flash if all the bulbs aren't working. Check both left bulbs, front and rear. One may be loose in the socket or corroded. If the brake light works, it's probably in the front, but since it's intermittent check.
I'd turn on the key, activate the turn signal and go to each bulb and wiggle the bulb or wiring and see if it magically started flashing.

The sockets corrode on the inside and loose the ground connection.
The next time the bulb won't light up attach a wire to a good ground and touch the other end to the brass part of the light socket.
