Default 1982 Corvette Fuel Tank Recommendation.

I removed my fuel tank and need another one for a 1982 Corvette. Can anyone recommend a good vendor? I am looking for a decent tank with a zinc coating or something comparable. Liner or no liner.

No mistakes there. While you have everything apart, consider replacing your fuel pump with a 85-89 Vette model. It is a direct bolt in and it increases your fuel pressure-- lots.

, or Zip... they have it for $230 and you could ask them for the Carlisle discount (free shipping if you stop by their tent at Carlisle)...

We have them, I don't know I would use the 85-89 pump though, those are designed to flow a much higher pressure and without other modification that would not be a good thing.

That has been a regular fix for the crossfire for 15 years that I know of.

There are no issues installing the 85-87 corvette pump. You still have to adjust the regulator on the rear TB though for 13psi. If you do replace the pump, I would highly suggest you replace the bladders in both TBs if you have never done that.

One last note on the TB rebuild kits, get the Sorenson kits from Autozone, they are good kits and have the "correct" bladders, trust me on this. P/N: 96-629 I think they are around $45 still. There are other kits available for CFI TBs. However, they are not all the same quality and they all do NOT work properly in a CF.

Nice! Just a suggestion, but before you install the new tank make sure you install new anti-rattle strips on the tank bands. You can buy them at a few corvette places, but you can use roofing felt cut to the correct measurements at a cheaper price. The ones you buy are going to be the same thing and cost more. Just a tip on that.
