Default 1968 C3 Corvettes with 295/50R15 tires, 10 inch wheels... any out there?

Hey there everyone! I appologize if this topic has been done to death, but in trying to search the internet for very specific information to update some research I am doing for a blog post on my website (http://www.shredjesse.com/1968-chevy...ck-or-modified) I am trying to confirm the modifications nescessary to run a 295/50R15 in the back of a 1968 C3 Corvette.

The 1968 Corvette is rather specific. For example the front wheel well can only really handle 26.1" circumference tires before it interferes with the front fender, thus requiring shaving it down to run larger 245 or 255 tires like many people post about using on 8" wheels on other years of C3.

So, I'm curious if anyone has on a 1968 Corvette done 15x10" wheels with 295/50R15 tires. I've seen posts from people doing it on other vettes, but the details are sporadic, and none were 1968s.

I envision the job requires:

4x -- 15x10 wheels, 5.5" backspace (to stay under OEM basic fenders).
2x -- Double offset trailing arms
1x -- Shortened rear spring

With all of that, no other major modifications are required (shaving body, etc etc). Can anyone confirm?
