AC kit for a 1978
I have a 1978 that did not come with factory air and am looking for a complete AC kit. Does anyone sell this item for my year? I've searched the internet and nothing comes up.

Re
I used Classic Auto Air, many of the parts look similiar. One thing to remember, with these kits, you lose the ability to duct fresh air through the unit. You are cooling, heating, or just blowing recirculated cabin air. Trying to figure out a mod to vent fresh air throught the kick panels. Know I will loose the speakers, but don't listen to the radio anyway.

I used a kit from Classic Auto Air on my '81. It contained a Sanden style compressor. I had to make a few hose ends and the rest was easy. Your model is not listed but neither was mine. I called and they pieced a kit together for me. It works great in this Central Texas heat.

Also, there is a shop near Palm Beach that has done a number of Vintage Air installs into 78-82's. The main person doing this has heavily documented the process, including many photos. He contributes to another Corvette blog. PM me and I will give you more info.

I have most (but not all) the AC out of a 77 I`m willing to sell relatively cheap, send a PM with an e-mail address and I will send pics of what I have.

Whatever way you go, I'd recommend a Sanden 508 compressor, NOT the stock GM R4.
